Principal

Welcome to the Cub Family! My name is Michelle Franci, and I am the proud principal of Stone Mountain. I have been in education for 29 years and have taught 1st-6th grade in both California and Colorado. I opened Stone Mountain in 2007 as a teacher. In 2013, I became the Assistant Principal and have been the Principal at SME since 2017. Stone Mountain is the best school on the planet- no doubt! Stone Mountain runs through my veins, and I am so proud to be a Cub! Outside of school, I love traveling with my husband and daughter and trying new restaurants in the area. My daughter, Kylee, is a graduate of Stone Mountain, Ranch View, and ThunderRidge High School, so this feeder is my home! #cubsforever

CHLOE DAUGHERTY

Assistant Principal

Hey there! I'm Chloe Daugherty, the Assistant Principal of Stone Mountain Elementary School, and I'm absolutely thrilled to welcome you to the Cub Community! Before becoming a building leader, I served DCSD as a special education teacher. I'm deeply passionate about helping students succeed through differentiated instruction, positive connections, and a love for learning. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Jared, and our dog, Chance. Whether we're hitting the slopes or finding new trails, we love exploring the outdoors together! I look forward to supporting the students, staff, and community members of Stone Mountain through open communication, collaboration, and celebrations!

This year marks my 28th year in education. I began my career teaching 2nd and 3rd grade before moving to 5th grade when Stone Mountain opened in 2007. Since then, I have taught 5th grade (all subjects), 6th-grade math, and 5th-grade science and social studies. I am now in my sixth year serving as the Professional Learning Specialist (PLS) at Stone Mountain, where I have the privilege of supporting all staff through instructional coaching, curriculum leadership, and ongoing professional development.

I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of the Stone Mountain community—not only as an educator but also as a proud parent. My daughter, McKenna, spent seven wonderful years here and is now thriving as a middle schooler at Ranch View. Outside of school, I enjoy watching sports, spending time with family and friends, and walking our mini goldendoodle, Rocky.

Hi! This is my 4th year at SME, and I love my job as the Health Assistant! I have been working off and on in DCSD since 2019, taking time to raise my children. Prior to coming to Colorado, I was a nurse in PA. It is such a privilege to be a part of this amazing community! I enjoy making strong connections with students and taking care of them in the health room. I am married to my wonderful husband, Greg. We have 5 grown children and 4 beautiful grandkids! In my spare time, I love travelling with my family, crafting, and cheering on the Philadelphia Phillies!

Hello! I am originally from the South and have enjoyed calling Colorado home for the past 13 years. My husband and I have loved raising our two children here, both of whom graduated from Douglas County Schools. I have been a nurse for 30 years, with experience in newborn intensive care, pediatrics, and school nursing. Being part of the Stone Mountain Elementary community is such a blessing—I truly love working with our wonderful students, families, and staff every day.

I moved to Colorado 5 years ago from New Mexico, originally from Texas so I am loving the non-scorching heat of Colorado. I enjoy driving through the mountains and seeing the wildlife. I love animals, so I love seeing the elk herds roam freely.

Hello everyone, I'm Vic Thiret (Mr. Vic)  DCSD has added an extra layer of security to Stone Mountain Elementary, and I am your campus Security Specialist. I work closely with school administration, District Security, and the School Resource Officer to provide full-time proactive security services to our students, staff, and building.  I retired in 2022 from the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office after 30 years of service. I am happy to be here and truly enjoy working with the awesome staff and kids. On weekends, my wife and I love to take day trips and hike with our two dogs.
