2nd Grade
SECOND GRADE TEAM

| JEN BEARMAN | jabearman2@dcsdk12.org | Hi! My name is Jen Bearman, and I am so happy to be teaching second grade! This will be my 10th year at SME, and my 19th year in education. I'm a CO native, but went to school in Southern CA. My husband and I have been married for 26 years, and we have two daughters. Ella, who is a sophomore at Wheaton College, and Kaitlyn is working at Redstone Elementary! We enjoy traveling and spending time with our extended family. Classroom community is very important to me. I love having fun with my students while we learn and grow each day! | |
ZOE CHILD |

My name is Zoe Child, and I am so excited to be at SME this year teaching second grade! This is my third year of teaching, where I have taught both second and third grade. I am a native of Colorado, growing up in Parker and being a product of Douglas County Schools! I attended Utah State University for my undergrad and Western Governors University for my masters. I will be getting married next year to my fiance, Nolan, and we have been together since high school. I am also the JV head coach of the Arapahoe High School dance team, so I spend most of my free time coaching my girls! My favorite part about being a teacher is providing a safe space for my students and building our classroom community, so I am looking forward to continuing that this year! |

| KARLIN HUGHES | khughes@dcsdk12.org |
My name is Karlin Hughes, and I'm so excited to be teaching 2nd grade this year. This will be my 6th year teaching at SME. I love being a teacher and pride myself on creating a fun environment for students where there is a balance of hard work and lots of fun. I have been married to my husband Bill for over 21 years, and we have a daughter, Ireland, who is a 7th grader at Ranch View Middle School. When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy traveling, spending time with my family, including going to my daughter’s dance competitions, working out, going to movies, being outdoors, and reading. I'm looking forward to an incredible school year! |
