6th Grade

I am excited to continue teaching sixth grade math this year! The 25-26 school year will be my 15th year as an educator and my tenth year teaching at SME. I grew up in Littleton, Colorado, and studied elementary education at the University of Texas at Austin. After graduating, I returned to the Denver area to begin my teaching career. When I am not in school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Garrett, our three year old daughter, Violet, and our silly black lab dog, Zia. I also love reading great books, traveling to as many places as I can, watching movies, going out to eat at fun restaurants, and enjoying the outdoors. I'm looking forward to another great year at SME!

I am so excited to be your 6th grade Social Studies teacher this year! I grew up in Highlands Ranch and am excited to be back home. I graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. This will be my 14th year in the classroom. I am certified to teach EC-6th grades, and have taught 2nd - 6th grades. I love the outdoors, and on weekends my husband, Josh, and I can often be found hiking, kayaking, skiing, camping, or visiting our daughters at college. We have two girls, Alessandra, 22, who is working on her master’s degree in Boston, MA, at Simmons University, and Isabella, 20, who is a junior at East Texas A&M. I can’t wait to make this the best school year yet!

Hello Stone Mountain family, my Jacque Di Rito, and I am the 6th grade Literacy teacher. This is my second year here at Stone Mountain! Reading, writing and teaching are my passions! I taught at Ranch View Middle School in the district, seventh grade language arts, before taking some time to raise my family. I also taught online in Beijing, helping students in China learn English for several years. Three of my four children have attended Stone Mountain, and my daughter is going to start kindergarten this year! We are so excited! I believe you cannot find a better school on the planet! I’m so proud to teach sixth grade because I love this age group so much! I also love to spend time with my own family, my sons, Dominik-15, Gavin-13, Vincent-9, and my daughter Gianna-4. We love to boat and surf, and my husband and I love every moment of watching our children play hockey and football. I can’t wait to start the sixth grade journey with you. It will be the best year ever!
