Meet the Front Office

OUR ADMINISTRATION TEAM

MICHELLE FRANCI
Principal

[email protected]  Welcome to the Cub Family! My name is Michelle Franci, and I am the proud principal of Stone Mountain. I have been in education for 29 years and have taught 1st-6th grade in both California and Colorado. I opened Stone Mountain in 2007 as a teacher. In 2013, I became the Assistant Principal and have been the Principal at SME since 2017. Stone Mountain is the best school on the planet- no doubt! Stone Mountain runs through my veins and I am so proud to be a Cub! Outside of school, I love traveling with my husband and daughter and trying new restaurants in the area. My daughter, Kylee, is a graduate of ThunderRidge High School and Colorado School of Mines. She was once a Stone Mountain Cub!

CHLOE DAUGHERTY
Assistant Principal
[email protected]
Hey there! I'm Chloe Daugherty, the Assistant Principal of Stone Mountain Elementary School, and I'm absolutely thrilled to welcome you to the Cub Community! I've been a special education teacher in Douglas County School District for the past five years, and I'm deeply passionate about helping students succeed through differentiated instruction, positive connections, and a love for learning. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Jared, and our dog, Chance. Whether we're hitting the slopes or finding new trails, we love exploring the outdoors together! I look forward to supporting the students, staff, and community members of Stone Mountain through open communication, collaboration, and celebrations!

ALISON SMITH
Professional Learning Specialist
 [email protected]

This will be my 26th year in education. For the first six years of my career I taught 2nd and 3rd-grade before moving to 5th when Stone Mountain opened in 2007. While at SME, I've taught 5th-grade (all subjects), 6th-grade math, and 5th-grade science/social studies. This will be my fourth year as the Professional Learning Specialist (PLS) at Stone Mountain where I am an Instructional Coach for all staff. I love working at Stone Mountain and am also a proud parent of a cub (my daughter, McKenna, is in 6th-grade)! Outside of school, I enjoy watching sports, hanging out with my family on our patio, spending time with friends, and walking our mini goldendoodle, Rocky.

JENNIFFER HORN

 VIC THIRET
School Security
 [email protected]

A Big Hello to Everyone!
My name is Vic Thiret (Mr. Vic).  DCSD has added an extra layer of security to Stone Mountain Elementary, and I am your Campus Security Specialist.  I work closely with school administrators, District Security, and the School Resource Officer to provide full-time proactive security services to our students, staff, and building.
I retired in May 2022 from the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office after 30 years of serving my community. While at the Sheriff's Office, I had the opportunity to work in many positions and assignments.  My favorite was a 12-year assignment to the Training Section where I managed the agency skill instructors, and taught in-service training and Police Academy classes. I was recruited by the National Sheriff's Association to help fine-tune and co-teach a national emergency management model specifically designed for law enforcement and community partners.
I started working at SME in May and have started rooting myself in this fantastic setting. The students, staff, and parents work so well together. I have seen a lot of things in my career and I am not afraid to say that many businesses, communities, and individuals could learn from your cooperation in building a strong foundation for our future.  I am proud to be a part of your team. Please feel free to contact me with any suggestions, issues, or ideas.
