[email protected] My name is Lindsey Ott- Barnett and I am very excited to be teaching art at Stone Mountain!! This is my tenth year teaching in Douglas County School District as an art teacher, but my first year at Stone Mountain Elementary. As your student’s art teacher, I align my lessons to the Colorado Visual Art Standards which include the role of artists in society, seeing art as a form of communication, expression, and part of culture. Students will experience the artistic process, principles of art and elements of design, and how to talk like artists. I love to also connect art lessons with content from the classroom and to art history. All projects will help students use their imaginations and creativity!

In September, I will be getting married! I do not want to confuse the Stone Mountain community with my name change, so I am starting the new school year with my married name Mrs. Ott- Barnett. When I am not teaching art, I spend my free time with Ted, my fiance. We spend our time outdoors hiking, skiing, camping, sitting by the pool, traveling the World and of course creating! I enjoy reading, playing board games, and spending time with family and friends. I have an adorable one year old niece and a hysterical four year old nephew. We have a fur-baby bernedoodle named Tuk who loves to snuggle on the couch with us.

[email protected] I've been teaching elementary music for 22 years and my main instrument is the flute. I grew up on Long Island in New York and went to college in Illinois where I met and married my husband Mike (also a teacher.) We live in Parker with our boys Drew (15) and Ethan (11), and our dog Pepper. I love living in Colorado where I can enjoy the outdoors and sunshine all year long!

This is my third year at SME and I am so excited to be teaching PE! I was born and raised in Texas, where I graduated from TCU - GO FROGS! My husband and I have been married for 14 years and we have two children, Madelyn (11) and Blake (9), and one teeny tiny dog, Penny (13). We moved to Colorado 5 years ago, and we are absolutely in love with everything Colorado has to offer. We enjoy hiking 14ers and biking around the local trails whenever we can. I am excited to encourage and challenge each and every student as we grow and learn together. I can’t wait to get to know you!

[email protected] Hello! My name is Mandi Engebretson and I couldn't be more excited to be the STEAM teacher this year at Stone Mountain. I grew up loving math and the sciences which led me to graduate from the Colorado School of Mines with my Petroleum Engineering degree. After 13 years in the professional world my heart called me here. I have three kiddos, Charlotte (3rd grade), Brooklyn (2nd grade), and Jackson (Pre-K). I hope to provide our Cubs with an experience that makes them want to explore STEAM and grow their love for Science! The world around us is fascinating and I want our students to engage in the phenomenon of wonder!
