I am excited to be teaching sixth grade math this year! The 23-24 school year will be my 13th year as an educator and my eighth year teaching at SME. I grew up in Littleton, Colorado and studied elementary education at the University of Texas at Austin. After graduating, I returned to the Denver area to begin my teaching journey. When I am not in school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Garrett, our 1 year old daughter, Violet, and our silly black lab, Zia. I love reading great books, traveling to as many places as I can, watching movies, going out to eat at fun restaurants, and enjoying the outdoors. I'm looking forward to another great year at SME!

I am so happy to be here at Stone Mountain for my second year!A little about myself professionally: I went to college at Cal Poly and I studied education with an emphasis in biology, then stayed an additional year to earn my teaching credential. After that I moved down to Valencia, CA where I taught fourth grade. When I moved to Colorado, I knew that Douglas County was a great fit for me. This will be my 19th year of teaching in total. I have my Masters Degree in education and am still often taking classes on weekends and over the summers. Personally, I am originally from a small town outside of Santa Barbara and try to get home to visit family at least once a year; not only for the love of family, but to get my fix of the beach. I have two great children: Gavin, a 8th grader, and Rylah, who will be here at Stone Mountain in 6th grade. I also have a wonderful husband and sweet puppy, Telly. I love living in this great state because of all there is to do. I’m often found hiking, going to concerts, dancing, camping, paddleboarding, finding fun restaurants, taking in a sports game, snowboarding, and just being outside in general.

Hello Stone Mountain family, my Jacque Di Rito and I am the 6th grade Reading teacher. Reading and teaching are my passions! I taught at Ranch View middle school in the district, seventh grade language arts, before taking some time to raise my family. I also taught online in Beijing helping students in China learn English for several years. Three of my four children have attended Stone Mountain and one will soon. You cannot find a better school on the planet! I’m so excited to teach sixth grade because I love this age group so much! I also love to spend time with my own family, my sons, Dominik-14, Gavin-12, Vincent-8, and my daughter Gianna-4. We love to boat and surf and my husband and I love every moment of watching our children play hockey and football. I can’t wait to start the sixth grade journey with you as I just finished the sixth grade journey as a parent and I can tell you it was the best year ever! |
