5th & 6th Grade LITERACY

[email protected]
This is my 14th year at Stone Mountain Elementary and my 17th year in education. I was a 6th grade teacher right here at SME for 11 years and taught two years of 5th grade. I am excited to teach literacy to both 5th and 6th graders this year! My number one goal is to help my students reach their full potential in a safe and caring environment. Plus, we have fun along the way!

[email protected] I am so happy to be here at Stone Mountain for my second year!A little about myself professionally: I went to college at Cal Poly and I  studied education with an emphasis in biology, then stayed an additional year to earn my teaching credential. After that I moved down to Valencia, CA where I taught fourth grade. When I moved to Colorado, I knew that Douglas County was a great fit for me. This will be my 19th year of teaching in total. I have my Masters Degree in education and am still often taking classes on weekends and over the summers. Personally, I am originally from a small town outside of Santa Barbara and try to get home to visit family at least once a year; not only for the love of family, but to get my fix of the beach. I have two great children: Gavin, a 8th grader, and Rylah, who will be here at Stone Mountain in 6th grade. I also have a wonderful husband and sweet puppy, Telly. I love living in this great state because of all there is to do. I’m often found hiking, going to concerts, dancing, camping, paddleboarding, finding fun restaurants, taking in a sports game, snowboarding, and just being outside in general.

I am happy to begin my 25th year of teaching, and I'm thrilled to join the second grade team! In my 23 years in Douglas County, I have taught students in 2nd grade through 6th grade.
I have enjoyed all that Colorado has to offer throughout my life, and I have been blessed with 23 years of marriage and 3 wonderful children. In my free time, I love spending time with my family, watching movies, playing games, traveling, hiking, and gardening.
