LISA DISPENSE	[email protected]	I am Ms. Dispense I have been teaching first grade for 20 years! I look forward to helping you be lifelong learners, gain confidence, and learn teamwork skills. In 2020, I had the honor of receiving an Apple Award and representing Stone Mountain as the Elementary Educator of the Year for DCSD. I am a Colorado native, went to Green Mountain High School in Lakewood, attended Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska on a soccer scholarship, and received my Master’s degree at the University of Colorado at Denver in Curriculum and Instruction with an ESL I also earned my principal’s license from the University of Phoenix. I have two sons, Dylan (10th grade) and Logan (8th grade). You will find us on a soccer, baseball, or football field around town. During our free time we enjoy traveling, watching movies, skiing, and cheering for all of the Denver sports teams. I love to read books and ride my Peloton bike. We also have two miniature schnauzers, Gianna and Rocco.
KATE BROWN	[email protected]	Hi! I am Kate Brown, and this will be my 6th year teaching 1st grade at Stone Mountain. My sweet and supportive husband, Josh, and I have been together since we were Juniors at ThunderRidge High School. We live in Sterling Ranch with our Mini Bernedoodle, Scout, and cockapoo, Ruby. In addition to teaching, I love being with family and friends, playing Pickleball, and shopping at Target.
BROOKE WALLACE	email coming soon!	Hello! My name is Brooke Wallace and I have been at Stone Mountain since 2012 in many different roles. I am thrilled to be teaching first grade here at SME and I absolutely love working with children! This year there will be a lot of learning, loads of fun, and many 1st grade memories! I have been married to my husband Bryan for 17 years and we have two wonderful children, Hailey (16) and Cooper (14), both of whom are former SME Cubs! In my spare time I love to garden, cook, read, travel, walk my two adorable dogs and bake sourdough bread.

NOTICE OF DESTRUCTION OF SPECIAL EDUCATION RECORDS

Special Education records which have been collected by Douglas County School District related to the identification, evaluation, educational placement, or the provision of special education in the district, must be maintained under state and federal laws for the period of five (5) years after special education services have ended for the student. Special education services end when the student is no longer eligible for services, graduates, or completes his/her educational program at age 21, or moves from the district. This notification is to inform parents/guardians and former students of Douglas County School District's intent to destroy the special education records of students who exited special education services as of June 30, 2016. These records will be destroyed in accordance with state law unless the parent/guardian or eligible (adult) student notifies the school district otherwise. After five years, the records are no longer useful to the district, but may be useful to the parent/guardian or former student in applying for social security benefits, rehabilitation services, college entrance, etc. The parent/guardian or eligible (adult) student may request a copy of the records by requesting the records at this link ( Douglas County School District Transcripts and Records Requests ).
